The Original Coders and Rise of Mindfulness in the Startup Ecosystem of Israel.

By Alan Weinkrantz

I have a theory; or actually it’s a belief set.

I can’t prove this; it’s just what I believe to be true.

Every time I am asked about Israel’s startup ecosystem, the successful IPO’s, and the incredible amount of innovation that comes from here, logic and precedent tends to prevail.

•It’s the training you get in the IDF.

•It’s the culture of risk.

•It’s the immigration from all over the world.

•It’s all the innovation and R&D centers that spin off creative and bright people who create new startups.

Sure… all of the above make perfect and logical sense.

But I think there is more to this narrative.

I am of the belief that what we are seeing is a repetition of history and God’s divine will that is appearing before us.

As the chosen people, and as the original coders — the scribes of the Torah — the code, the messaging, the narratives and lessons we have carried on for generations upon generations has manifested itself again in Startup Nation, only in a different form factor.

If you are of here or from here in Israel, you are part of a special and honored tribe: the original coders.

I consider this an honor.

And with that honor comes great responsibility.

You not only have a responsibility to do great work, but do so in a mindful and compassionate way.

As you do your work, and write your code, be mindful — be aware — that you are building and creating not only what comes from your mind, but from your heart and soul.

God has given you this gift to create a new form of code that will impact the world in what you do, and in a very positive and meaningful way.

When you open your heart and soul to your team, then it’s not just about doing business. It’s about being part not just one, but two tribes.

You are part of the tribe of your business, and the greater tribe that you are a member of the people of Israel all over the world.

Code and create with mindfulness in mind.

Being aware as you code makes you not only more mindful, but open to what’s new and what’s next.
