Stephen Fulder, Founder and Senior Teacher at Tovana (the Israel Insight Society), Israel

Stephen Fulder is the founder and senior teacher of Tovana (the Israel Insight Society), which is the largest Dharma teaching organization in Israel. Passionate about the intersection between Dharma and Jewish wisdom, Stephen has spent years learning with a variety of teachers from Burma, India and the West. He has been involved in Vipassana (mindfulness meditation) and Dharma practice since 1975. Stephen has been teaching for 20 years in Israel and abroad. He teaches a wide array of retreats, courses, classes, and especially to more advanced practitioners. He has been involved for many years in peace work in the Middle East and was a founder of the MiddleWay organization. Stephen also lectures on the topics of health, sickness and death. He has written 14 academic and popular books in the field of herbs and alternative medicine. He is married with children and grandchildren and lives in the ecological Galilee village of Clil, which he helped to found. Stephen was educated at Oxford and the National Institute of Medical Research, where he was awarded his Ph.D in molecular biology.
